ChildIn

Enum ChildIn

Source
pub enum ChildIn {
    Pipe(PipeRecv),
    File(File),
    Reader(Box<dyn AsyncRead + Send + Unpin>),
}
Expand description

What a child reads as its standard input.

Variants§

§

Pipe(PipeRecv)

The read end of a pipe.

§

File(File)

A file, read from its cursor.

Once the child has exited, the cursor is wherever the child left off, so reading through the file picks up after what the child consumed. Every clone shares the cursor, so it moves for all of them.

§

Reader(Box<dyn AsyncRead + Send + Unpin>)

A stream, copied into a pipe while the child runs.

The copy may read past what the child consumed. Once the child exits, the copy stops, and an error it met is reported by Child::relay_error unless it is io::ErrorKind::BrokenPipe.
