ChildOut

Enum ChildOut

Source
pub enum ChildOut {
    Pipe(PipeSend),
    File(File),
    Writer(Box<dyn AsyncWrite + Send + Unpin>),
}
Expand description

Where a child writes its standard output or standard error.

Variants§

§

Pipe(PipeSend)

The write end of a pipe.

§

File(File)

A file, written from its cursor.

Once the child has exited, the cursor is wherever the child left off, so writing through the file continues after the child’s output. Every clone shares the cursor, so it moves for all of them.

§

Writer(Box<dyn AsyncWrite + Send + Unpin>)

A stream, copied from a pipe while the child runs.

The stream is closed once the child’s output ends, and Child::wait waits for that. An error the copy met is reported by Child::relay_error.
